Karen's Tips For Your Own Business
1. You must speak up and advertise! You have to advertise because otherwise no one would know about your business. So perhaps you could write a press release. (like we did for Catholic Kids)
2. It's good to use a little marketing. A little marketing is good. It convinces people to buy things from your business. Another great marketing idea is to give away a free gift to your customers. For example, we give information that is helpful to Catholic kids and their parents.
3. Make sure to build in some profit. You always want a little profit or you are working for free and won't make any money. Say you buy a product for $10.00. Would you sell it for $10.00 or for $15.00? Of course, you would sell it for $15.00 and you now have $5.00 to operate your business.
4. You need a product a person would truely buy. To have a successful business, you need a good product. You need something you will use yourself, like clothes, teachers' gifts (like our Catholic School Kid clock )and cool toys kids will beg to get. You should also have a newsletter (like ours) that will be updated to bring people to your site everyday,week or month depending on your site.
5. You have to be honest. To get people to keep buying from you, you need to be honest and tell the truth. Don't you hate when the T.V. has a commercial for a product you think is the coolest and once you get it, the product turns out to be not as good as you thought? You'll never buy from them again, will you? Your customers will feel the same way, so don't rip them off!
6. Effort, hard work and time. Now don't think this is so easy! It takes hard work, effort and time to make your own business. If you do a sloppy job and do it in a hurry, everyone will be able to tell! If I were you, I would use these tips and have a great, successful business.
